2004 - Missed 18 games with a leg injury in 2004 but played in 52 with 51 starts, all at shortstop. Batted .316 (62-196) with 14 doubles, 1 triple, 4 homers, 25 RBI, 7 stolen bases. Arguably the team's best clutch hitter. SEC Tournament Co-MVP along with Kevin Melillo. Beat Clemson with a 10th inning home run. Drove in only run in 1-0 win over Alabama with a 10th inning single. Hit ninth inning three run homer to tie SEC tournament game against Mississippi that Carolina won in the 10th. Had 2 run double that keyed come from behind 5-3 win over East Carolina in NCAA regional. Homered in win over Miami in the College World Series, his second CWS home run (other in 2003). Had .947 fielding percentage. Batted .280 last summer in the Cape Cod League. Better than 3.0 GPA both semesters 2003-04 (4 consecutive semesters). Dean's List spring 2004.
