COLUMBIA, S.C. - Elliott Haynie from the South Carolina track and field team has been named AgSouth Athlete of the Week.

Haynie cleared an outdoor school record jump of 17-10.50 (5.45m) Saturday to win the pole vault at the Pepsi Florida Relays in Gainesville. The previous school record of 17-07.75 held for seven years before Haynie, a transfer from Gardner-Webb, broke it in just his third meet as a Gamecock.

Haynie now ranks third in the nation in the pole vault and first in the East region.
