The No. 15 women's team will have five scoring opportunities - senior Kierre Beckles (60mH), junior Petra Olsen (pole vault), sophomore Erika Rucker (400m), junior Jeannelle Scheper (high jump) and the women's 4x400-meter relay.
Watch the Championships Live: Gamecocks at the NCAAs: The women's team, currently ranked No. 15, is slated to have five scoring opportunities this weekend. Junior Jeannelle Scheper is coming off the first high jump SEC Championship in program history and is tied for the collegiate lead with a clearance of 6'3" 1/4 (1.91m). After becoming the first Gamecock to qualify for the NCAA Championships in the high jump at the 2012 NCAA Indoor Championships, Scheper finished eighth, earning the school's first All-America certificate in the event. Senior Kierre Beckles is coming off her third-straight top-3 performance at the SEC Indoor Championships in the 60-meter hurdles. This marks the three-time All-American's third appearance at the NCAA Indoor Championships, finishing 11th in 2010 and 13th in 2012. Her season best of 8.17 ranks seventh in the country. Sophomore Erika Rucker is also making a return trip to the NCAA's, making her second consecutive appearance. She has finished fourth the last two years at the SEC Indoor Championships and earned an 11th place finish at the NCAA Championships last year. She carries the sixth-best time in the nation at 52.22. Junior Petra Olsen is the lone women's individual qualifier for the Gamecocks making her first trip to the indoor championships. Last weekend, Olsen cleared a new personal-best of 13'11" (4.24m) to rank 11th overall this season. She garnered All-American honors in the 2012 outdoor season. The 4x400-meter relay has only run together twice after senior All-American Nadonnia Rodriques was injured at the Armory Collegiate Invitational earlier this season. Rucker, Beckles, freshman Tyler Brockington and sophomore Christal Green finished second at the SEC Indoor Championships two weeks ago at a season-best 3:33.68. The time is the eighth-fastest run this season. The South Carolina women are coming off a sixth-place finish at the 2013 SEC Indoor Championships.
