The University of South Carolina Track and Field opens the season in a home meet at the USC Indoor Complex on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013. Competition in the field events will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the running events beginning at 12:00 p.m. The public is welcome (free admission).

The Gamecocks, coached by Curtis Frye for the 17th season, return 16 athletes with at least one All-American performance, including Erika Rucker, the reigning SEC Freshman Indoor Runner of the Year. The Georgia native also qualified to compete for the US at the IAAF World Junior Championships where she won bronze in the women's 400-meter and ran the anchor leg to help bring home the 4x400-meter relay gold from Barcelona.

South Carolina will travel to Birmingham, Ala., for the Auburn Invitational next weekend.
