South Carolina head swimming and diving coach McGee Moody announces that Erin Mullins has been named the assistant coach of the program heading into the 2016-17 season.

Mullins joins the Gamecocks after two years at Division I University of Richmond in Virginia. She served as assistant coach of the program, which won the Atlantic 10 title in 2014-15 and 2015-16. The Spiders were also named the Scholar All-America Team by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) both years.

Before her time at Richmond, Mullins spent a year at Division III Amherst College in Massachusetts. She served as recruiting coordinator while planning, developing and overseeing the dry land training for the squad, which finished second for both men and women at the 2014 NESCAC Championships.

Mullins obtained a Master's degree in Sport Management in 2013 from Indiana State while coaching for two seasons at DePauw University, which earned third place in the program's first two season in the North Coast Athletic Conference.

She is a 2011 Summa cum Laude graduate of the University of Cincinnati, where she lettered four times and captained the Bearcats for two seasons. She was a two-time Big East Championships finalist and a four-time All-Big East Academic Team member.
