Lindsey Brinkley is in her first season as assistant coach of the Carolina Girls Dance Team. A former Carolina Girl herself, she brings great experience to the program. Not only has she entertained thousands of Gamecock fans at Williams Brice Stadium and Colonial Life Arena, she also helped the Carolina Girls win a fourth-place finish in Dance Division 1A at NDA's Collegiate Championship in 2010.
Brinkley, born and raised in Irmo, South Carolina, began her dancing career at the age of three. She trained at The Southern Strutt for 15 years and spent many summers in Los Angeles training under nationally recognized choreographers now featured on the hit show, So You Think You Can Dance. By the time she reached age 18, she won two national championships as a soloist and one national championship with her competitive team at The Southern Strutt.
Brinkley's professional experience includes her time as a dancer for Unbound Dance Company from 2009 to 2011. She has also recently been a teacher and guest choreographer at The Southern Strutt, currently ranked the #3 Most Competitive Studio in North America and the #1 in South Carolina, according to Dance Spirit Magazine.
A third generation Gamecock alumni, Brinkley has been wearing garnet and black her whole life. She is proud to continue representing the University of South Carolina through her involvement with the Carolina Girls Dance Team.
