South Carolina Softball

The South Carolina softball program is one of the longest-running teams in the Southeast, starting intercollegiate competition in 1974. Over the years, the team has advanced to eight College World Series appearances (five AIAW, three NCAA). The program has won two SEC Tournaments, four SEC Eastern Division crowns and one SEC title and has made 15 NCAA Regional and one NCAA Super Regional appearance as well. Now under the direction of head coach Beverly Smith, the future looks even brighter, as construction is set to begin on the next home of the Gamecocks in the summer of 2012, to debut during the 2013 spring season.
