COLUMBIA, S.C. - No. 29 South Carolina defeated the No. 28 Clemson Tigers 6-1 Saturday afternoon at the University of South Carolina Fieldhouse. The Gamecocks battled for a competitive doubles point then ran through singles play, capturing the first three singles points and clinching the match before the Tigers registered their first point of the afternoon. Todd sets program's 1000m record to cap first day

Women's Basketball - Mitchell Named to Dawn Staley Award Watch List - 1/30/15

South Carolina junior guard Tiffany Mitchell earned a spot on the 2015 Dawn Staley Award Watch List, the Phoenix Club of Philadelphia announced on Friday. In its third season, the award recognizes the nation's best guard in omen's Division I college basketball, exemplified by skills that Staley possessed - ball handling, scoring, ability to distribute and will to win. No. 1/1 South Carolina deployed its depth to surge past Alabama, 85-54, on Thursday night at Colonial Life Arena with A'ja Wilson and Alaina Coates leading the way. Wilson scored a game-high 17 points for Gamecocks (20-0, 8-0 SEC) and Coates notched her ninth double-double of the season with 14 points and a game-high 10 rebounds while also swatting five shots. Coates recorded 10 double-doubles in all of last season on her way to claiming SEC Freshman of the Year honors. Read more (+)
