    Tryout Information
    Cheerleading tryouts are held each Spring usually during the end of March or the first of April and each Fall during the first full week of classes or the day classes begin. Individual placement on each team will be determined following the Fall tryout. The Varsity squad is a co-ed squad while the Junior Varsity squad is all-girl squad. Currently, all cheerleaders participate in home football games.

    USC Fieldhouse For current students and those already accepted into the University.

    The following is an example of the type of skills recommended for tryouts:
    ***These may vary from tryout to tryout.***

    Dance: girls only
    Fight Song
    Cheer and/or Sideline
    Recommened Gymnastics: Standing Tuck/Backhandspring
    Optional Gymnastics: Any tumbling skills, series, etc.
    Recommended Co-ed Partner Status: Toss stunts (lib/stetch, full)
    Optional Co-ed Partner: Sequence of up to 3 stunts
    All-girl Partner stunts: Evaluated on technique as base or top. Basic progression stunts w/assigned stunt group.
