DONATIONS REQUEST GUIDE LINES
The University of South Carolina Athletics Department may be able to provide
donations as requested for community events. Please review the stated policies and
procedures governing the donation program.
Policies and Procedures for Requesting a Donation or Autographed Item
POLICY:
1. Items must benefit the local community and the people of the state of South Carolina. Only non-profit, charitable organizations are eligible to receive donations from the University of South Carolina Athletics Department. These organizations must be registered as a 501(c)-3 tax-exempt organization. Charitable organizations that benefit children will be given priority.
2. Charitable organizations that benefit children 9th grade and above are not eligible to receive donations from South Carolina Athletics due to NCAA regulations. Only those that benefit children in the 8th grade and below are eligible to receive donations.
3. Corporations, for-profit businesses and individuals are not eligible to receive donations.
4. Autographed Items
Autographed items to be purchased by non-profit organizations are available on a first come, first served basis. Quantities are limited to one item per organization per year. When quantities have been exhausted, additional items will not be available. Listed below are the prices for each item.

5. Items will NOT be signed for personal use. All donations are for non-profit, charitable organizations within the state of South Carolina.
6. Student-athlete signatures cannot be obtained through the Donation Request process.
PLEASE NOTE:
The use of South Carolina Athletics to promote events is not permitted and is not in compliance with NCAA regulations that govern the University of South Carolina. Please do not plan any event on the anticipation of a donation from the University of South Carolina Athletics Department. Any donation should be viewed as a complimentary element to the designated function.
The use of the University of South Carolina name, logo and/or any advertising that implies support or sponsorship of the event by the University of South Carolina Athletics Department or any of the University of South Carolina sports programs must be approved in writing by the University of South Carolina Athletics Department at least six weeks in advance of the event.
PROCEDURES:
1. Donation requests (see below for the required form) must be filled out and electronically mailed, faxed, or mailed to the University of South Carolina Athletics Compliance Office. Please do not send additional requests to head coaches or other areas within the Athletics Department.
Donation requests must include:
- Name of organization requesting donation.
- Item being requested.
- Date the item is needed.
- Purpose of the item (e.g. auction, raffle, etc.).
- Name of organization who will benefit from the proceeds (children, elderly, individuals with disabilities, etc.)
- Verification of 501(c)-3 tax exemption (non-profit charitable organizations)
- Age range of beneficiary group.
- Contact name, address and phone number.
- Completed order form if requesting autographed item.
2. Approval or denial of the request will be provided in writing.
3. Upon approval by the Compliance Office, the request will be forwarded to the appropriate athletics office to be filled. Once filled, items will be mailed or prepared for pick up.
4. Donation requests must provide for a minimum of 4 weeks' notice or request will not be fulfilled.
5. All donation requests will receive a response.
6. The Compliance Office must review all donation requests and approve, in accordance with NCAA rules, before any action is taken. Submitting a request form does not guarantee the request will be filled.

*As a celebration of their back-to-back College World Series victories, Baseball has agreed to sign provided items for personal use or gifts. There is a limit of three (3) items per request through this policy, and no more than three (3) requests will be filled for the same requestor. This is a limited time engagement.
