Round Two Results | Leaderboard

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Led by a two-under (70) by freshman Isidora Nilsson, the South Carolina women’s golf team climbed up the leaderboard into 13th place (+17) at the Mason Randolph Championship on Saturday. The Gamecocks shot a 291 (+3) as a team at the Vanderbilt Legends Club on day two of the tournament.

“The team played very solid today,” head coach Kalen Anderson said. “I was pleased with their response to a tough start yesterday. It was a strong round for our freshman, and we had steady play behind her. It was a good day to build on.”

Nilsson, who currently sits tied for 44th overall (+3), opened the day with a birdie on No. 10 before tallying two more birdies on her final nine holes. She dropped a shot on her final hole of the day and finished as one of 28 golfers under par on Saturday.

Junior Katelyn Dambaugh continued her steady play this week, as she shot an even 72 to move up into a tie for 35th overall (+2). She began her day with a double bogey on No. 10, but finished strong with three birdies following the turn. The Golfweek Preseason Third-Team All-American leads all Gamecocks with eight birdies this week.

Junior Jia Xin Yang turned in another solid round for the Gamecocks, posting a two-over (74). She recorded pars on 14 of her 18 holes and registered her fifth birdie of the tournament on her second to last hole of the day. The Beijing, China native sits in the 49th position (+5) heading into the final day of competition.

Senior Sarah Schmelzel posted her second-straight three-over (75) to finish the second day in 55th place (+6). Sophomore Ainhoa Olarra carded a six-over (78) on Saturday to bring her two-day total to +14.

Georgia currently sits atop (-15) the leaderboard after tallying a 275 (-13) on Saturday. Alabama (-14) and Northwestern (-12) round out the top three, while the Crimson Tide’s Lakareber Abe boasts the top individual (-9) through two rounds.
