COLUMBIA, S.C — South Carolina sophomore Ben Dietrich has been named to the SEC Men’s Golf Community Service Team, the conference office announced Monday.

Dietrich earns the honor for the second-straight year as he led the Gamecocks’ community service efforts. Among the numerous community outreach projects he completed throughout the year, he conducted a kids clinic at the Members Club at Woodcreek and Wildewood and held a long drive exhibition for club members. He participated in the Walk to Cure Diabetes and helped build bikes for children for Christmas for Toys for Tots. He also helped at junior golf camps in his hometown of Bluffton, S.C., managing operations for camps and teaching fundamentals and character traits.

The SEC names a Community Service Team for each of its 21 league-sponsored sports, looking to highlight a student-athlete from each school who gives back to their community through superior service efforts.
