CHICAGO, ILL. – 2015 men’s basketball signee P.J. Dozier saw major playing time in the McDonald’s All-American boy’s game Wednesday evening, scoring 14 points for the West team in an 111-91 loss to the East. Earning a spot out of Spring Valley High School in Columbia, Dozier played 20 minutes and made 6-of-11 shots from the field for the game, even earning the start for the West.

Dozier is the fourth South Carolina signee to be selected as a McDonald’s All-American, joining his uncle, Terry Dozier, South Carolina’s all-time leading scorer BJ McKie, and Rolando Howell. He is the first Gamecock honored as a McDonald’s All-American signee since 2000.

The 6-6 guard will join the team as the No. 25 overall prospect in the ESPN 100, and the top prospect in the state of South Carolina according to 247sports.com. This past season, he averaged 19 points per game to help lead Spring Valley to a regional title and 19 wins.
