GREENVILLE, S.C. — The South Carolina women’s tennis team concluded play in the Furman Fall Classic on Sunday in Greenville, S.C., with a 5-5 singles record on the day.

Meghan Blevins, Megen Cochran and Natalie Looney all won the consolation draws for their respective singles flights. Blevins defeated fellow SEC foe Joanna Henderson of Tennessee 6-4, 6-2 in flight three, while Cochran upended Carola Pederzani of Clemson 6-4, 6-1 in flight five. Looney downed Clemson’s Daniela Ruiz 7-5, 6-1 to win the backdraw of flight six.

Alison Mills registered her first career win as a Gamecock, downing Joan van Lochem of Furman 7-5, 6-3 to earn seventh place in flight six. Katie Fosnacht took out Alejandra Gil from Furman 6-2, 6-4 in flight seven in a round-robin format.

Through two tournaments, Brigit Folland, Caroline Dailey and Cochran have all put together impressive individual doubles records as each player stands 6-0. Cochran and Dailey combined to win the flight two doubles title on Saturday at Furman and they are 5-0 together this fall. Folland teamed with Blevins to win the flight three title Saturday and the duo stands 4-0 thus far overall. Blevins is 5-1 overall in doubles as an individual.

Blevins and Cochran have the team’s best singles records through two tournaments with 5-1 marks.

Next up for the Gamecocks is the Princeton Invitational over Oct. 3-5.
