COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina women’s basketball will play its final home game of the season Thursday night against Georgia, and the fourth-ranked Gamecocks will have several special offers and recognitions for fans to enjoy in their last opportunity to see the SEC regular-season champions at Colonial Life Arena. Senior Wilka Montout and two other Gamecocks hitting significant milestones will be honored prior to the game, and fans can stay after the game to hear from head coach Dawn Staley on her team’s historic season. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m., and doors will open at 5:30 p.m.

Gamecock Club and My Carolina Alumni Association members will receive free admission (general admission seats) for themselves and guests by showing their current membership cards at the turnstiles Thursday night. Students will receive double loyalty points and a coupon for free food at the concessions stand.

In addition to Senior Day recognition for Montout, Staley will present juniors Elem Ibiam and Aleighsa Welch with mementoes of their accomplishments this season. Ibiam became the school record holder with 69 blocks so far this season – a category in which she leads the SEC and ranks 24th in the nation. Welch became the program’s 29th 1,000-point scorer last week, and she is just the 12th to reach the milestone while also amassing at least 650 rebounds. Presentations will begin at approximately 6:40 p.m.

After the game, Staley will address the fans, who rose to the challenge of the “Drive for 5” campaign. South Carolina’s average attendance for the season stands at 5,965 to rank 11th in the nation. Sunday’s crowd of 10,547 was the second largest to watch a women’s basketball game in Colonial Life Arena history.
