COLUMBIA, S.C. – With spring practice in full gear for Gamecock Volleyball, head coach Scott Swanson announced his non-traditional exhibition schedule today, which includes one hosted event in the four allowed under NCAA rules.

The Gamecocks start with a trip to Raleigh, N.C., to face the field at the NC State Spring Invitational on March 23. The next weekend, South Carolina hosts the Gamecock Spring Bash at the Volleyball Competition Facility, an all-day event on March 30. The squad will play at Clemson in an exhibition on Friday night, April 5th at 7 p.m.

The final competition will serve as the close of the practice schedule and a preview to the 2014 start of South Carolina’s 21st sponsored sport, sand volleyball. South Carolina will participate in the Fiesta at Siesta Key over April 13-14, the fifth year the event has been held. Twenty-five teams from different levels of intercollegiate athletics are pledged to participate in this year’s event.

South Carolina went 18-14 under second-year head coach Scott Swanson, the program’s second winning season in the last decade.
