COLUMBIA, S.C. – The University of South Carolina men’s soccer team will host Georgia State in the first of two exhibition contests for the 2012 season on Tuesday evening at Stone Stadium. Game time is set for 7 p.m., for the match and admission is free. Free audio and live stats will be available via GamecocksOnline.com.

Fans attending the contest are asked to park in the Heyward Street Parking Garage and to enter at Gate 1, which is the gate on the Heyward Street side.

South Carolina, the reigning Conference USA regular season champions, returns 15 letterwinners and seven starters from its 2011 NCAA Tournament squad, including preseason All-Conference USA honoree Bradlee Baladez and goalkeeper Alex Long. The Gamecocks are led by veteran head coach Mark Berson, who leads the squad for its 35th season in 2012.

Georgia State, led by head coach Brett Surrency in his third season, welcomes six newcomers to its squad, joining among others an eight-member senior class. The Panthers earned an at-large bid to last year’s NCAA Tournament. GSU returns 10 starters from its 2011 team, including goalkeeper Vincent Foermer, who collected five shutouts last season with 87 saves and a 1.47 goals against average.

Season tickets for men’s soccer, which includes admission to all home games, are currently on sale in the Gamecock Ticket Office. Fans can purchase tickets online at GamecocksOnline.com, or by calling 1-800-4SC-FANS. Cost for season tickets for men’s soccer is $25 for adults and $10 for youth (17 and under).
