COLUMBIA, S.C. –
As part of the Southeastern Conference’s comprehensive television package, two South Carolina volleyball matches have been picked up for regional telecasts for the 2012 fall season. The Oct. 5 match at Texas A&M will be on SportSouth, and the Oct. 21 match at Mississippi will be on Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS).

The Gamecocks’ second trip in history to College Station, Texas, has been chosen for SportSouth’s first SEC volleyball telecast of the fall. That Fri., Oct. 5 match is now set for a 9:30 p.m. EDT first serve at Reed Arena. South Carolina is 0-1 at Texas A&M, falling in a second-round matchup during the 1995 NCAA Tournament. In addition to SportSouth, FS Southwest and FS Midwest will show the match in the new SEC markets.

Also selected for broadcast is the Sun., Oct. 21 contest against the Ole Miss Rebels, with match time moving to 2 p.m. EDT at the Gillom Sports Complex. South Carolina stands at 9-6 in matches in Oxford, including a four-set win last season. Comcast and Charter cable customers in the southeast region can find CSS on their listings.

In total, 18 matches will be shown on the television package, including eight on ESPNU. The SEC will have six matches on the ESPNU Wednesday Night Women’s Volleyball series this fall.

ESPN3.com will also show the two South Carolina television matches. Most Gamecock home matches will stream live for free on GamecocksOnline.com.

South Carolina also announces that it will host the Slovenian Junior National Team in an exhibition match on Wed., Aug. 29 at 7 p.m. in the Volleyball Competition Facility.

Season tickets are available for the 2012 home schedule and are available at the Colonial Life Arena ticket office in person or by phone (800-4SC-FANS) or online at GamecocksOnline.com. The $25 adult pass is good for all 18 home matches (which includes the added exhibition on Aug. 29) on the docket. Youth 17 and under can get a season ticket for $10.
