ROCKY FACE, Ga. — South Carolina senior Wesley Bryan bounced back from a poor first round to post a 3-under-par 69 on Saturday in the second round of the Carpet Capital Collegiate at The Farm Golf Club. The Gamecocks shot their second consecutive round of 295 (+7) as a team and fell back two spots to 11th place with a two-round total of 590 (+14).

Bryan, who shot a 78 (+6) in the first round, moved up 25 spots in the standings into a tie for 26th at 3-over. The Chapin, S.C., native made the turn at even with a 36 but bogeyed his first two holes on the back nine. Bryan made up for his struggles over the next five holes as he birdied hole Nos. 12, 14 and 16 and eagled the 15th to move to 3-under, where he finished the day.

Junior Dykes Harbin carded his second straight round of 73 (+1) and is in a tie for 22nd at 2-over. Five pars, three bogeys and a birdie left Harbin at 2-over with a 38 on the front nine. After consecutive pars to start the back side, Harbin eagled the 12th to move back to even. A birdie at hole No. 14 put Harbin in position to finish at under par, but he bogeyed the next two holes to finish his round at 1-over.

Sophomore Blaine Woodruff turned in a 74 (+2) and is tied for 39th. Woodruff got off to a strong start with a birdie on the first but he bogeyed the next three holes to fall to 2-over. After a birdie at the sixth, Woodruff double bogeyed No. 8 to make the turn at 39 (+3). He gained a stroke back with a birdie at the 12th and then made par on the next four holes. Woodruff bogeyed the 17th but wrapped up his round on a positive note with a birdie at No. 18 to move to 2-over.

Sophomores Logan Harrell and Caulder Moore both struggled on the day with rounds of 79 (+7) and 81 (+9), respectively.

Auburn leads the tournament at 569 (-7) after shooting 279 (-9) on Saturday. Chattanooga, Tennessee and Clemson are in a tie for second at 574 (-2). Georgia’s Bryden Macpherson and Chattanooga’s Benjamin Weilguni share the individual lead at 139 (-5) after posting identical rounds of 67 (-5).
