ORANGE BEACH, Ala. – Wednesday’s matches at the 2010 SEC Women’s Soccer Tournament have been cancelled due to poor weather conditions and will be rescheduled for Thursday. The Orange Beach, Ala., area has been receiving heavy rains over the last 24 hours and rain continues to be forecasted for much of the remainder of the day. There is considerable standing water on the field at the Orange Beach Sportsplex creating conditions that are unfit for play.

Thursday’s schedule will begin at 1 p.m. (ET) with seventh-seeded Kentucky taking on No. 2 seed South Carolina. No. 6 LSU and No. 3 Tennessee will meet at 3:30 p.m. (ET). No. 8 Vanderbilt and top-seeded Florida will play at 6 p.m. (ET) while No. 5 Auburn and No. 4 Georgia will conclude the day’s competition at 8:30 p.m. (ET).

The semifinals will be played as regularly scheduled on Friday evening with the winner of Kentucky-South Carolina meeting the winner of LSU-Tennessee at 6 p.m. (ET). The winners of Vanderbilt-Florida and Auburn-Georgia will play at 8:30 p.m. (ET).

No. 2 South Carolina and No. 7 Kentucky were scheduled to kickoff at 1 p.m. (ET), but the teams and officials decided to enter a delay five minutes before the match was originally scheduled to begin. After a 40-minute delay, the decision was made by the SEC soccer coaches and the league office to postpone the competition.
