Hey Y’all!

My name is Sam Arbaugh, and I’m a sophomore from Aiken, SC. The whole team is getting ready to go on fall break for a few days, but it really is no break at all. We use “vacations” like these to work even harder on our own. The one thing that we do get to cheat on, however, is sleeping in a little later!

I know that our team will use this time to work individually on specific skills that need to be improved and also to condition. I know this because we have a huge motivating factor: fall ball! This is the first year in many years that we have had a fall season, and we are all extremely excited about it. We are currently 4-0, and we still have four games to go. The first two doubleheaders went successfully against Spartanburg Methodist College and USC Aiken, but we all know we could have done better. When we play Coker and Erskine in the next few weeks, they better bring their A game!

Overall, I am really excited about this year! There are many factors that point to a great spring season ahead of us. Along with new teammates, a new pitching coach and strength coach, our team has a whole new attitude. An attitude of WINNING and WORKING HARDER than ever before. Come out and support the Gamecocks as we finish up our fall season!
