The USC track and field teams will travel to Florida State University for the NCAA East Region Track and Field Championships on Fri., May 30 – Sat., May 31. The men qualified 13 athletes in 11 events plus both the 4x100m and 4x400m relays. The women qualified 11 athletes in eight events plus both the 4x100m and 4x400m relays. The men are currently ranked No. 15 nationally. The top five finishers in each region qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships June 11-14 at Drake University in Iowa.
Listed top 10 in the region on the men’s side entering the meet: Jason Richardson is No. 1 in the 110m hurdles nationally; Johnny Dutch is No. 2 nationally in the 400m hurdles and No. 4 in the region in the 110m hurdles; Johnathan Hancock is No. 9 in the 100m in the region; Quentin Moore is No. 5 in the region in the 400m; Jussi Heikkila is No. 4 in the region in the 400m hurdles; Jason Cook is No. 6 in the shot put in the region; the 4x100m relay is No. 6 in the region; and the 4x400m relay is No. 4 in the region.
