Columbia, SC – South Carolina’s Derek Pressley won the triple jump tonight with a regional qualifying mark in the second day of the Spec Towns Invitational on the campus of the University of Georgia. The Spec Towns Invite wraps up with a full day of competition on Saturday.

Pressley hit the pits at 50′ 10 – a season best. It is also a regional qualifying mark.

Mike Zajec, competing with the `big boys of the NCAA hammer’ finished seventh in the hammer with a toss of 189′ 5. He already has a better regional qualifying mark.

Kiki Clarke is sixth place after the first day of the heptathlon with 3076 points.
