In the final home meet of the year, the Gamecocks won 12 events on the men’s side and 10 events on the women’s side at the USATF State Meet at Weems Baskin Track and Field. In addition, the Gamecocks picked up six regional qualifiers, including Trier Young who qualified in two events: 100m hurdles (13.86) and the 400m hurdles (1:00.20). In addition to Young USC also picked up qualifiers in the 100 (Lakya Brookins, 11.66), 400m hurdles (Jason Richardson, 51.26), shot put (Jason Cook, 58′ 6 3/4) and the hammer (Mike Zajec, 190′ 7).

Young won the 100m hurdles at 13.86 with a regional qualifier and finished as the first collegiate with a regional qualifying time of 1:00.20 in the 400m hurdles.

Mike Zajac won two throwing events: his first gold came in the hammer with a toss of 190’7 – an NCAA regional qualifier and his second gold of the day came in the discus when he tossed it 164′ 2. Jason Cook won the shot put with a regional qualifier of 58′ 6 ¾.

Jason Richardson won the 400m hurdles at 51.25 – a regional qualifier.

Trier Young won the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.86, Lakya Brookins won the 100m at 11.66, Jonathan Hancock won the 100m at 10.62 and Derron Flood won the 200m at 21.86.

Aaron Anderson won the men’s 400m with a time of 47.51. Anderson was followed across the finish line by Ray Miley (47.55) and Jamil James (47.90). Faraign Giles won the women’s 400m at 55.15 and Porche Byrd won the 200m with a time of 24.56.

The men’s 4x100m relay won with a time of 40.76 and the women stepped on the track a minute later and won with a time of 45.75.

Derek Pressley jumped a season-best 22’1 to win the men’s long jump, Matt Shuler won the pole vault (15’7), Liza Todd won on the women’s side of the pole vault (11′ 11 3/4) and, Staley Foster crossed the bar as the winner in the high jump at 5′ 3.

In the throws the following won events: Ciji Sims threw the javelin 103′ 8 to win the gold medal and Aimee Kodat won the hammer with a toss of 140′ 4 and followed up with a win in the shot put at 39 1/2.
