COLUMBIA –
South Carolina women’s basketball signee Becky Burke (Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights) added Pennsylvania Class AAA Player of the Year honors from the Associated Press to her collection of accolades this week. A two-time first-team all-state selection, she also was an honorable mention WBCA High School All-American this season. She is part of the five-player recruiting class that drew a No. 7 ranking from Blue Star Basketball this fall.

Burke crossed the 2,000-point plateau this season, amassing 2,162 points in her career after averaging 25.7 per game as a senior. Seven 30-point games this season helped her raise her scoring average by nearly five points over that of her junior year. Capping her career with four 20-win seasons, Burke helped Abington Heights to an undefeated regular season, and the team finished with a 26-2 record.
