COLUMBIA, S.C. –
South Carolina’s volleyball team got off to a strong start in its spring schedule, taking seven of 10 games against regional foes at Duke.

The Gamecocks took on Atlantic Coast Conference programs North Carolina, North Carolina State and Duke as well as the U.S. Naval Academy squad. Playing to 25 in two games against each squad, the Garnet and Black swept the Wolfpack and the Midshipwomen. Against the two Tobacco Road schools, the Gamecocks defeated North Carolina in two out of three games while taking one game from Duke in a best-of-three setting.

The Gamecocks compete in the SEC Coaches Beach Volleyball Tournament on April 12 in Gainesville, Fla., before wrapping up their spring schedule at the Great Lakes Center College Tournament in Chicago. Twenty-four of the top programs in the country will be competing in that event held on the weekend of April 19.
