The South Carolina Gamecock football team (6-4, 3-4 SEC) continued preparations on Wednesday afternoon for Saturday’s SEC showdown with Eastern Division rival Florida (6-3, 4-3 SEC). Saturday’s game is set for a 7:45 p.m. kick at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia. The game will be televised on ESPN with Mike Patrick handling the play-by-play, Todd Blackledge providing the color commentary and Holly Rowe working the sidelines.

It was a slow news day out of Wednesday’s practice. Both cornerback Captain Munnerlyn and safety Emanuel Cook returned to practice on Wednesday in limited capacities. “They were out practicing a little bit. They went in early to get some treatment but they should be able to play some (on Saturday),” said Head Coach Steve Spurrier.

Coach Spurrier also announced that Gurminder Thind will get the nod at left guard on Saturday. It will be his second start of the season at left guard. He also made the start against South Carolina State. Heath Batchelor, who made his first start of the season last Saturday at Arkansas, would get the start again this week at right guard.

The Gamecocks will return to the practice fields on Thursday.
