Columbia, S.C. – The South Carolina men’s swim team completed three days of competition at the NCAA Championships in Minneapolis, Minn., on Saturday. The 800 freestyle relay team of senior Colby Mack, freshman Dominique Lendjel and juniors Kyle Cormier and Dan White finished 11th. Each member earned Honorable Mention All-American honors.

The 800-freestyle relay was swum on the second day of competition. The team finished with a time of 6:28.65, a season best. The team also swam the 400 freestyle relay. They finished 19th with a time of 2:57.82. The team earned 12 points for their finish in the 800 free relay, which earned them an overall team finish of 31st.

The team members also had individual swims. White had the highest finish for the team. He finished 20th in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:36.13, a new personal best. White also earned a new personal best in the 500 freestyle. He finished 24th in the event with a time of 4:22.37.

Lendjel also had two individual swims. He was South Carolina’s highest finisher in the 200 IM with a 33rd place finish. Lendjel had a time of 1:48.13, a new personal best. Lendjel also swam the 200 backstroke. He finished 29th with a time of 1:45.57.

Co-team captain Kyle Cormier had three individual swims. His best finish was in the 200 freestyle, where he finished 24th with a time of 1:36.28, a new personal best. He also swam the 200 IM, earning a 40th place finish with a time of 1:49.86. His final event was the 100 freestyle, in which he finished 39th with a time of 44.22.
