Baton Rouge, La. – The South Carolina women’s golf team moved up two spots Saturday in the second round and is in ninth place with a score of 310-297=607 (+31) at the LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic, held at the par-72 University Club.

Senior Jenna Pearson continues to lead the Gamecocks and is tied for 12th place on the individual leader board after two rounds. She scored a 76 in the second round to bring her two-day total to 71-76=147 (+3).

Freshman Bénédicte Toumpsin improved three strokes on her first round total, carding a 74 Saturday to sit in a tie for 24th place. Toumpsin sat at one-under through 13 holes but bogeyed the 14th and double-bogeyed the 15th to finish the day at two-over.

Freshman Taylor Barrett turned in her best round as a Gamecock, carding a two-under 70 Saturday after a rough opening round. Barrett tallied five birdies on the day, including two on her final two holes of the day. Her two day total of 84-70=154 puts her in a tie for 45th on the individual leader board.

Junior Blythe Worley carded a 77 in second round play and is tied in 67th place with a two-day score of 81-77=158 (+14). Junior Camila Mori rounded out the Gamecock effort and is in 89th place with a 81-82=163.

Final round action begins Sunday morning at 8:30 in a shotgun start.
