Recap | Final Stats | Notes

South Carolina Coach Dave Odom

“I have no criticism of [the three seniors]. They’ve been remarkable kids to work with. They’ve been remarkable players. They’ve resilient, and talented. They’ve taken ownership with the program here. They’re Gamecocks forever. They love the place. I’ve got nothing but great things to say about them.”

“Let’s go hard for the next two weeks for sure, and then hopefully something beyond that.”

“Right now at times, our team runs on fumes, flickering fumes. They’re a tired bunch.”

“I like our team and what we’re doing. We beat a good team today. Now get ready this one on Wednesday night.”

“Brandis [Raley-Ross] is playing better. Dominique [Archie] is playing steadily better.”

“We started the game with Bryce [Sheldon] on [Clarence] Sanders, and with Brandis [Raley-Ross] on [Bam] Doyne. I think our [assistant] coaches did a really good job of breaking their games down and telling our guys how to play. Bryce particularly deserves a lot of credit; because he was somewhat allergic to defense when he got here, and he’s learning that it doesn’t sting you, it doesn’t break you out, and he’s playing with more poise, more confidence, more discipline. He’s found that if he helps us play great defense on guys like Clarence Sanders…it certainly helps us.”

USC Guard Tre Kelley

“That’s the most important thing about Senior Day, is to win for whoever your seniors are. We have three seniors who gave a lot for the program and to come out with the win (is nice). Brandon Wallace broke the record at the same time. Since I’ve been here, we always seems to play well this time of year.”

Brandon Wallace

“Tre’ pretty much summed it up. Everybody played well. Dominique Archie went 6-for-6 and that didn’t go unnoticed. We played a great team game tonight. Getting the record is special – it’s something to tell my kids about 20 years from now.”

Bryce Sheldon

“It was a great team win. The supporting cast came through, too. It wasn’t just the seniors out there. Brandis played well, Dwayne played well. It was a team game out there. A team win.”

Ole Miss Coach Andy Kennedy

“I thought it was our worst performance of the year – not so much in the way we played, which was atrocious, but in our approach. Our approach was very passive. We cannot be a passive team. Our M.O. is to be aggressive, and we didn’t do that tonight, and to credit South Carolina, they took advantage of it”

On Brandon Wallace

“Every time that we had inside touches, you would hope that you have the ability to score, but because of his length and establishing contact, we knew that he was going to be longer and more athletic than our front court guys.”

On South Carolina

“Sometimes people get deceived by records, and they get deceived into thinking `this team’s a good team, and this team’s a bad team,’ but it’s just a basketball team. They’ve run into some hard luck this past year, and obviously the records could be flipped, it happens. Tre’ Kelley is a marvelous player. He certainly deserves player of the year consideration. We couldn’t do anything with him. And Brandon Wallace blocked shots and played within himself. Bryce Sheldon makes shots, and when you leave him open, like we foolishly did, he makes shots.”
