LEXINGTON, Ky. – The South Carolina volleyball team is still looking for its first win against an eastern division opponent this season. The Gamecocks (10-12, 3-9) will have a chance Friday when USC travels to Lexington, Ky. and takes on the Kentucky Wildcats (15-7, 8-4) at 7 p.m. USC’s last win against an SEC east team was in 2003 when the Gamecocks defeated Kentucky, 3-1 in Lexington.

South Carolina is looking to snap a four-match losing streak and a three-match losing streak to the Wildcats. UK defeated USC 3-1 back on Oct. 23 in Columbia and the Gamecocks have not recorded a victory since a 3-1 win over Auburn on Oct. 16.

UK has won its last three matches by posting wins over South Carolina, Mississippi State and Ole Miss. The Wildcats are currently third in the east, while the Gamecocks are fifth.

Freshman Marija Milosevic has been the standout player for the Gamecocks as of late. Last weekend, Milosevic recorded 41 kills and averaged 5.12 kills per game for a .302 attack percentage. The Gukos, Serbia native tied the school record in kills for a single match when she posted 28 kills in the Georgia match.

Also in the Georgia match, junior Shonda Cole recorded her 1,000th career kill and became 11th Gamecock player to reach this milestone.

Danielle Wallace leads the Wildcats in kills with 324 with 4.26 kills per game, while Amy Kaplan leads in attack percentage with .369. Queen Nzenwa leads the team in total blocks with 101.

This marks the 33rd meeting between the two teams and the series is tied 16-16. The Wildcats have not recorded three straight wins against USC since 1993.
