Columbia, S.C. – The University of South Carolina women’s tennis team looks to become the third team in the SEC to have 500 or more wins in their school’s history. The Gamecocks enter this weekends matches against #26 Tennessee and #4 Georgia one win away from 500.

Carolina is third of all 12 schools in the SEC in career program wins. Only Florida (694) and Georgia (597) have more wins than South Carolina in the SEC. Of the 499 wins in the school’s history, USC Head Coach Arlo Elkins has guided the Gamecocks to 322.

South Carolina (10-5 OA, 3-3 SEC) will face the Volunteers (11-9, 5-1) on Friday at 2pm. USC holds a 15-14 edge against the Vols on the tennis courts. Last season, Tennessee defeated Carolina 4-1 in Knoxville. After the match with Tennessee, Carolina will host #4 Georgia (14-1, 6-0) on Sunday at 1pm. The Bulldogs hold a 26-14 record against USC. The Gamecocks last win against Georgia was a 4-2 decision on April 20, 2002 in the SEC Tournament.
