South Carolina basketball walk-on Jason Parker is not enrolled at USC for the Spring, 2003 semester. Parker, a native of Charlotte, N.C., is working to clear up academic issues from the Fall, 2002 semester at USC.

Parker, a transfer from the University of Kentucky in the Fall of 2002, practiced with the team infrequently last semster due to medical problems with his knee and has not practiced with the team since January 7.

He hopes to complete his work in a satisfactory manner.

“While we are disappointed that Jason Parker is not a student at Carolina, it is my hope that he will use this time to ensure that he meets all NCAA and University eligibility requirements,” said USC Head Coach Dave Odom. “We also hope he meets the goals that he set for himself when he came to Carolina. I remain committed to him as his coach and his friend, and I will do everything possible to help him realize his goals as he goes through this difficult period.”
