Junior forward Rolando Howell suffered a mild head trauma with about 5 minutes to go in the first half of USC’s win over Mississippi on Wednesday night and did not return the rest of the game. Today, he was examined twice by team physician, Dr. Mark Leski, who deemed he could practice today, but that they would be on the side of caution, limiting him to no contact. Howell did practice the entire time and had no problems. He will be examined again tomorrow to determine if he is again practice-worthy.

“He did what we wanted him to do today,” said USC Head Coach Dave Odom. “He did everything we had planned — 5-0, full speed, etc. He had no after effects, but we will continue to monitor his condition. He had no contact during practice.”

He is listed right now as probable. Both Chris Warren (ankle) and Marius Petravicius (knee) are listed as out for the game at Kentucky on Saturday.
