COLUMBIA, S.C. –
Coming off a weekend series sweep of Vanderbilt, the seventh ranked Carolina baseball team (28-8, 9-5) will travel to first ranked Clemson (30-4, 7-2) on Wednesday for a weekday game. First pitch at Doug Kinsmore Stadium is set for 7:15 p.m.

The Gamecocks will start senior LHP Gary Bell, who is 6-2 on the year with a 4.74 ERA. Clemson will counter with freshman RHP Jeff Hourigan, who sports a 0-1 record with a 1.23 ERA.

USC currently is on top of the SEC East Division, one and a half games ahead of Florida and Georgia. The Gamecocks have won four consecutive games as well as seven of their last ten. The Gamecocks enter this week ranked seventh by the Collegiate Baseball and ESPN/USA Today Coaches polls, and eighth by Baseball America.

Wednesday’s game will be televised by Comcast Sports and broadcast on the South Carolina baseball radio network with Mike Morgan and Tom Price calling the action.
