Nick Mazur arrived at the University of South Carolina in 2015 and joined the Dodie Academic Enrichment Staff as a learning specialist. Prior to his arrival at the University of South Carolina, Nick served as the learning specialist to the Athletic Department at San Jose State University, first working with the men's and women's basketball teams for two years and then was appointed the learning specialist for the San Jose State football program in the spring of 2013.
Nick Mazur has more than 10 years of university, community college and high school experience mentoring, tutoring and enhancing the academic success of students and student-athletes. Nick holds degrees from the University of California in political science and African American Studies and was the class valedictorian in 2004. In 2007, he earned a master's degree in African Diaspora Studies from his alma mater.
Mazur was a sprinter and hurdler for the 2001 through 2004 California men's track and field team. He earned Pac-10 Conference all-academic honors in each of his four years and was a two-time recipient of the Golden Bears' Brutus Hamilton Academic Award given to the top male track and field athlete.
