Kyle Lipsey joined the athletics department in fall 2007 as director of baseball/softball operations. Lipsey previously served as a team manager for the baseball squad and has been with the Gamecocks since the 2004 season. In his first year, the Gamecocks reached Omaha and the College World Series. As director of operations, Lipsey oversees all equipment management for the baseball and softball teams and also coordinates the travel and hotel arrangements for the baseball team. Lipsey also is primary contact on the staff with the umpire crews for each game. Lipsey graduated in the spring of 2006 from South Carolina with a degree in business management and marketing. He also had a minor in sport & entertainment management. Lipsey attended Jonesville High School where he lettered in baseball and basketball. He earned all-region honors in basketball averaging 17.2 points per game. He played in the Spartanburg Tip-Off Club All-Star Game as well. He was a shortstop for four seasons on the baseball team. He was an all-area honoree by the Spartanburg Herald-Journal for both baseball and basketball. Lipsey also was named to the all-state academic team while attending Jonesville High School. Lipsey was born on March 16, 1984 in Spartanburg, S.C. He is the son of Gene and Nancy Lipsey. |
