Jeff Davis came to the University of South Carolina in 2001 as associate athletics director for facilities and operations after spending two and one-half years in the same position at the University of Houston.

In his time at Houston (1999-2001), Davis was responsible for all UH athletics facilities and, during his first year, he served as the athletics department liaison/project manager for the renovation and expansion project for Robertson Stadium — UH’s football facility — and other renovation projects totalling $19.2 million. He was responsible for the planning, supervision and maintenance of all UH athletics facilities and grounds and had significant game management responsibilities.

Davis came to Houston after spending 14 years at his alma mater, East Carolina University. During his final eight years at ECU, he served as assistant athletics director for operations and equipment where he managed the daily operations for ECU’s athletic facilities, games and special events. During his tenure, he was directly involved in over $37.5 million worth of expansion and renovation projects. He also supervised the maintenance and management of five outdoor practice and competition facilities, including the Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium and Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum. In addition, he planned and scheduled all athletics and practice facility usage on the athletics campus and coordinated team travel for ECU’s Olympic sports teams.

He was director of operations at East Carolina for six years before being promoted to assistant athletics director in 1991.

While at ECU, Davis served as the site coordinator for the North Carolina Eastern Regional High School Basketball tournaments and several conference championships. He was the facility coordinator for the state Special Olympics for two years, and served on the game management committee for the Colonial Athletic Association Men’s Basketball Tournament for eight years, and was chairman of the committee from 1995-99.

A native of Wilson, N.C., Davis earned his Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education from East Carolina in 1984. In 1987, Davis earned his Master of Arts degree in Education from ECU, where he had been a member of the Phi Epsilon Kappa Honor Fraternity. He is a 2003 graduate of the Sports Management Institute.

Davis and his wife, Nicole, have two daughters, Hunter Nicole and McKenna Lee.
