Instead of being sad, she was glad to be able to wear her Gamecock dress and cheer on the team in spite of her injury!

As part of our new social media partnership with Lodestone, we have a new feature on our South Carolina Gamecocks Facebook page - a Facebook Fan of the Week!

This week's winner is Sherri from Myrtle Beach who submitted her photo and story:

"Zoee has always loved the Gamecocks. On spirit day at her school she proudly wears her Gamecock gear. Knowing what a huge fan she is and that she had never been to a game, her elementary school principal gave her his two tickets to see the USC vs. UAB game. Here she is in the stands at Williams Brice Stadium. By the end of the night she was exhausted from waving her "cocky cloth" and cheering on the Gamecocks!"

I went up to section 505 to find this week's Fans of the Week and to wish a special young Gamecock fan, "Happy Birthday!" It was little Sullivan's third birthday and she and her parents were celebrating with the Gamecocks on a sunny Saturday.

Freddy Giavelli grew up in Summerville and attended University of South Carolina from 1986 to 1988. His wife, Whitney Giavelli, grew up in Charleston, went to high school in Columbia and attended Carolina from 2002 to 2004. The Giavellis have attended Gamecock football games together since 2005 (even when Whitney was pregnant) and have started the tradition with their daughter, Sullivan (who may still be a little camera shy when it comes to the crazy lady sticking a camera in her face haha).

This week's pick for Fans of the Week came from Friday night's soccer game. Our 14th ranked Women's Soccer team was taking on Georgia and these young ladies were having a great time hanging out with Cocky in the stands. Haleigh Ormsby (left) is 10 years old and in 5th grade. Sister Lainey Ormsby (right) is 4 years old. Both girls play recreational soccer here in Columbia and according to their parents, Rob and Louise Ormsby, love coming to South Carolina soccer games and (of course) love Cocky too!
