After practice this afternoon a group of Gamecocks made the short trip from Tampa to Clearwater for Beach Day. Michigan and South Carolina fans enjoyed the band, cheerleaders, and a few light-spirited competitions. While Michigan's cheerleaders won the tug of war 2-1 (Michigan men and co-ed teams both won, Carolina women won), the Gamecocks took home the pie-eating contest courtesy of Ashton Holmes. Clearwater officials presented both teams with symbolic keys to the city and other gifts. More photos here.
Tomorrow will be a low key day for the team with just one day left until Outback Bowl game day. The team will have meetings in the morning and a walk-through later in the afternoon.
