He was 62. Elkins stepped aside from day-to-day activities as head coach in February for health-related reasons. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, at The Zone at Williams-Brice Stadium.

ROOSTER CROWS

South Carolina jumped three spots to No. 3 in the latest equestrian coaches poll.The Gamecocks have won six meets in a row, and are coming off their first ever Southern Equestrian Championship over the weekend. South Carolina defeated then No. 3 Auburn on Friday, and then edged No. 1 Georgia in raw scores on Saturday handing the Bulldogs their second home loss since the beginning of the dual-meet era (2003-2004).
