"Inside the Roost" Monday: Travian Robertson, Ruth Sorrel

1075 the game logo.jpgTune in to tonight's "Inside the Roost" radio show on 107.5 The Game from 7-8 p.m. as Athletics Director Eric Hyman and host Derek Scott discuss the latest news in Gamecock Athletics. They will be joined by two guests on air for this week's edition.

Defensive lineman Travian Robertson will be on to discuss participating in last week's Pro Timing Day, the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, and his preparations for this month's draft. Robertson played in 56 games as a Gamecock, the second-most in school history (one behind teammate Rodney Paulk). He was named the SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week for his efforts against Florida and logged a season-best seven tackles against both Mississippi State and The Citadel. Robertson earned his degree in Criminal Justice last May.

Hyman and Scott will also be joined by Ruth Sorrel, Associate Head Equestrian Coach. Sorrel is in her seventh season as a coach with the Gamecocks. While she was a student here, she was a member of the Equestrian team and served as a captain during her senior season.  This year, the Equestrian team is 9-5 on the season and ranked No. 6. Over the weekend, South Carolina won the 2012 Southern Equestrian Championship hosted by UGA. Next week, the Gamecocks will compete in the National Collegiate Equestrian Association's National Championships. The Western team is 8-5 on the year which earned them the No. 5 seed in the Western Bracket and the Hunt Seat team is 12-2 and earned the No. 2 seed in their bracket.
