ROOSTER CROWS

For the second-straight season, No. 25 South Carolina won its opening-round SEC Tournament game. The Gamecocks (22-8) powered through a tough shooting night for a 57-38 win over 11th-seeded Alabama Thursday night. All 13 active players saw game action as South Carolina used a 22-4 run midway through the first half to build what would be an insurmountable lead. Senior guard La'Keisha Sutton was the early offensive spark, and senior Charenee Stephens matched her career high of three blocked shots in the game's first four minutes to set the tone defensively.

The Gamecocks advanced to the quarterfinals to take on No. 16/15 Georgia at 10:00 p.m. ET tonight. The game will air live on Fox Sports South.

FAN PHOTO OF THE DAY

Today's photo is from David Haller:

"My 7 year old son, Jonah, and 11 year old daughter, Cady (pronounced Katie) at last season's game against Clemson.  Cady's birthday is November 26.  All summer and spring all she wanted for her birthday was to go to the game against Clemson-- and of course win.  She got both.  I graduated from USC undergrad in '94 and law school in '97/  Very proud that both of my kids are avid Gamecock fans!"
