ROOSTER CROWS

Sophomore Jeannelle Scheper opened her 2012 track and field season in record form with her win in the high jump at the Virginia Tech Invitational. She broke an eight-year old indoor school record with her mark of
5'11 ½ (1.82m).

The Gamecocks' new linebackers coach, Kirk Botkin, spent the 2008 and 2009 seasons coaching the defensive ends and special teams at his alma mater, Arkansas, under Bobby Petrino, including one season alongside Gamecocks' defensive coordinator Lorenzo Ward.
