List of Gamecocks "Firsts" Under Spurrier Growing in Impact

If you couldn't make it to the game this past weekend, watch the video of the football halftime recognition. Coach Spurrier talked about the significance of 11 wins and the team's accomplishments this season and introduced the players who joined him on the court. Eric Hyman went over several of the "firsts" the Gamecocks have achieved under Coach Spurrier.

New running backs coach Everette Sands spent the 2010 season coaching the RB's at NC State, his lone season with the Wolfpack.
His backs logged four individual 100+ yard performances for the first time since 2007.

The Gamecock Swimming & Diving teams recorded 20 first-place finishes in 32 events in Saturday's sweep of Duke and Queens.

Today's photo is from the Holtons with this caption/story:

"My husband and I at the Capital One Bowl.  My husband is originally from Columbia, SC and moved down here to Florida.  He has totally converted me to a Gamecock.  We were so happy that they were selected for the Citrus Bowl which is only an hour away from our home in Palm Bay, FL.  I never thought I would see so many Gamecocks in my home state!"

We've got a lot of great submissions so keep them coming! Feel free to send in your photos (any sport/season, either of you or taken by you!) with your name to! A lot of the best photos include some Gamecock gear and 'showing your spurs'! We'd love to share with the rest of Gamecock Nation!
