The Women's Soccer team is ranked No. 25 in the final poll of the 2011 season; the Gamecocks are the only SEC team in the poll.
Football has won back-to-back SEC Freshman of the Year honors as Jadeveon Clowney garnered the award this season, following up Marcus Lattimore earning the distinction in 2010.

"We're all gamecocks through and through. We never miss watching our GAMECOCKS play! Taz plays peewee football here in Newberry, Braydon starts flag football next year, Katrina is the "team mom" and has been every year Will has coached. Will has coached flag football for 2 years and will be head coach of a tackle football team for 10-12 year olds next season. Taz and Braydon both want to play football for the GAMECOCKS when they grow up. Taz is a huge fan of Marcus Lattimore and Alshon Jeffery, Braydon likes the tackling - doesn't matter who it is as long as it's a Gamecock doing the tackling! Sammy and Bruiser support their Gamecocks proudly with gameday jerseys and t-shirts (they never miss a game either). This picture is also our Christmas card picture that will be sent to family all over SC and Illinois!"
