The Day for Kids event was a private charity event for disadvantaged children from around the Orlando area made possible by the Florida Citrus Sports Foundation. Florida Citrus Sports is the organization that hosts both the Capital One Bowl and the Champs Sports Bowl.
Upon arrival, each kid was paired up with one to two Gamecock football players and later the Nebraska team joined the fun as well. The group had DisneyQuest all to themselves, spending over an hour and a half playing as many games as they wanted.
"It's good for the kids, they can enjoy themselves and hang out with the football players," said Alshon Jeffery. "They just want to play games and have fun."
One of the most popular games was a virtual pinball game where players had to use their body weight on a platform to move their digital pinball around a large screen in front of them to score points. Several of the Gamecocks said that game was a workout in itself!

Marcus Lattimore's young friend for the day was a girl named Erica, who Marcus said was very sweet and even beat him in a couple games.
"I love it. I wish we could stay longer," said the sophomore running back.
After the Day for Kids event the Gamecocks made their way back to Celebration High School for practice and a lifting session. Check out photos from practice here as well as post-practice interview videos in today's practice recap.
