Tonight on our "Inside the Roost" radio show we'll be talking rivalry week. It's Carolina-Clemson time! Host Derek Scott and Athletics Director Eric Hyman will be joined by a couple longtime Gamecocks, Don Barton and Dr. C. Alden Sweatman, Jr. Don Barton, class of 1949 Journalism major, is the Gamecocks' former Sports Information Director. One could argue that no one in South Carolina, or the world for that matter, knows more about the Carolina-Clemson gridiron rivalry than he. Dr. Sweatman earned his medical degree from the then Medical College of South Carolina before his residency was interrupted by military service in Vietnam. He has been practicing as a surgeon in South Carolina since 1976 and is a dedicated Gamecock fan.
The group will also discuss what is known to many as simply, "The Prank." In 1961, a group of Sigma Nu fraternity brothers made their way on to the field imitating the Clemson football team. Tune in tonight to hear more on the story from Barton and Sweatman.
"Inside the Roost" airs on 107.5 The Game every Monday night from 7:00-8:00 p.m. If you're not in the area you can listen online.
