It's finally here, Gamecock fans! The 2011 football season kicks off Saturday vs. East Carolina at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. I've collected some stadium, gameday, and event information below to help Gamecock Nation find their way around Charlotte this weekend. Hope everyone has a great time in the Queen City! Charlotte is my hometown so I can't wait to see us "Paint Charlotte Garnet!"

I'll be in Charlotte Friday and Saturday so if you have a question, don't hesitate to give me a shout on Twitter (http://twitter.com/SpursUpBlog) or post on the GamecocksOnline Facebook page if you have a question!

FAQ's:

What time is the game and what channel is it on?

Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. airing on FOX Sports Net regional channels and ESPN3.com. Check out our "What Channel is the Game On?" post for more info.

What time do the gates open for Saturday's game?

Gates are expected to open at 5:00 p.m. for the 7:00 p.m. game.

What if I need to pick up my tickets at the stadium, where do I go?

Will call is located at the North Gate/Graham Street side of the stadium

What sections are the Gamecock sections?

If you purchased your tickets through the South Carolina ticket office, your seats are in sections designated for South Carolina.  Check out the color-coded diagram here to see the sections. We're Garnet & Black, in case you didn't figure that out, haha!

How do I get there? Where do I park?

Enter your starting point here for directions to the stadium from Panthers.com. That link also has details about parking and tailgating. Another great transportation option is the LYNX light rail system, which has several stations within just a few blocks of the stadium. Click here to explore the map below.

Who is the home team?

While this is still considered ECU's game and they are the host team, as part of our original contract with them the Gamecocks will actually be the home team for the game (wearing Garnet jerseys and white pants).

Will the marching band be there?

Yes, the Mighty Sound of the Southeast is scheduled to be at the Gamecock Club/Alumni Association pre-game tailgate event at approximately 5:00 p.m. before making their way into the stadium a little after 5:30 p.m. They will be alternating with ECU performing in the stands starting at 6:00 p.m. leading up to kickoff at 7:00 p.m.

What about our entrance? Will they play "2001"?

YES! Similar to a bowl game, both teams will have their entrance on to the field. Ours will include the song that gives every Gamecock chill bumps! It won't be quite like a home game, but you'll see plenty of familiar fan favorites at the game, including Sir Big Spur, Cocky and the Carolina Cheerleaders.

Will there be beer sold?

Yes, but only on the club level and in suites.

Are the policies at Bank of America Stadium the same as Williams-Brice?

Many of the policies are similar, such as no smoking and no re-entry, but please check this page on Panthers.com for all their stadium policies and guest information, including a list of prohibited items.
