Several hundred South Carolina students lined up at Colonial Life Arena this morning to purchase tickets to the five football away games in 2011, starting off with the ECU game in Charlotte.
Students who purchased ECU tickets received a free 2011 Football Gameday t-shirt courtesy of the university's Trademark and Licensing Department.
The allotment of student tickets for away games each year is based on analysis of past years' demand and sales. For example, this year the number of tickets made available for students for the Georgia game was more than double the allotment for the last game at Georgia in 2009 and it still quickly sold out. Student allotments for ECU and Tennessee also both sold out, while tickets remained for the games at Mississippi State and Arkansas.
We were pleasantly surprised by the increased demand for tickets to some of the away games this season and excited to see so many students wanting to hit the road to cheer on their Gamecocks!
Can't wait for kickoff vs. ECU in eight days!!!
